BUILD JUAN SEBASTIAN ELCANO: MASTS (PART II – A)<\/h2>\n

On Step 16<\/strong>, we continue to explain some of the most difficult phases when you are going to build Juan Senastian Elcano model ship: ‘Mats – Part II’<\/strong>. Take the eight PCL parts <\/strong>and one BW1 part <\/strong>-wire- and put them on your work table. Next, cut<\/strong> a small piece of wire (BW1) with a Professional Straight Cutting Pliers<\/strong><\/a> (27210). With a hand drill<\/strong><\/a>, make a 0.5 mm hole<\/strong> on the upper part of the stick (PCL) and apply<\/strong> our Cyanoacrylate for Porous Materials<\/strong><\/a> (27620), for sale separately, where the hole is. Insert the wire<\/strong> into it and bend it 90 degrees<\/strong>. With the help of a Stainless Steel Ruler<\/strong><\/a> (27069) and the aforementioned pliers, measure 0.7 mm <\/strong>and cut off the excess<\/strong> as seen on the video. Repeat the process<\/strong> with the remaining PCL parts.<\/p>\n

Take the four parts S1<\/strong> -sails- and arrange them on your workshop. With the help of a sewing needle<\/strong>, use the thread –part CT1<\/strong>– to sew<\/strong> part S1 -sail- to part PCL -mast-. Thread through the corner of the sail and around the stick as well with some Straight Fastening Tweezers<\/strong><\/a> (27020) and the previous drill. Continue sewing the sail<\/strong> with the needle and thread along the length of the mast<\/strong>. Knot at the end of the neck<\/strong>, apply cyano and cut the excess thread<\/strong> as shown on the video.<\/p>\n
