Dos meses despu\u00e9s, sin apenas provisiones, pasando innumerables penurias y tras varios intentos de motines, las naves atracaban en la<strong> isla Guanahani<\/strong> en el archipi\u00e9lago de las Antillas. Era el 12 de octubre de 1492 y Col\u00f3n hab\u00eda descubierto Am\u00e9rica, duro viaje que no pudo haber realizado sin estas c\u00e9lebres embarcaciones.<\/p>\n<h2>La Ni\u00f1a<\/h2>\n<p>Esta carabela cl\u00e1sica construida entre 1487 y 1790 era propiedad de los hermanos Pinz\u00f3n antes de iniciar la expedici\u00f3n y Col\u00f3n la utiliz\u00f3 en su segundo viaje a Am\u00e9rica. Med\u00eda <strong>21,44 metros de eslora<\/strong> y contaba con una tripulaci\u00f3n de 20 hombres. Pese a ser capturada a la vuelta de su segundo viaje, consigui\u00f3 llegar al puerto de C\u00e1diz.<\/p>\n<h2>La Pinta<\/h2>\n<p>Carabela n\u00f3rdica de 20 metros de eslora capitaneada por <strong>Mart\u00edn Alonso Pinz\u00f3n<\/strong>. El anecdotario cuenta que era la m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida de las tres carabelas y frecuentemente ten\u00eda que esperar a las otras dos. Sabiendo esto, parece normal que fuese uno de sus marineros el que diese el aviso de \u00abTierra\u00bb a su llegada al Nuevo Mundo.<\/p>\n<h2>La Santa Mar\u00eda<\/h2>\n<p>Conocida como <strong>La Gallega<\/strong> por sus or\u00edgenes, fue la encargada de transportar a Crist\u00f3bal Col\u00f3n hasta el continente americano.
