MODEL KIT CONTENTS ANATOMY OF HMS VICTORY

Assemble your 1:84 scale model in wood of the Anatomy of HMS Victory, our extraordinary maquette of the English ship line from XVIII and XIX centuries. Its construction system using false keel and frames brings the assembly of the miniature closer to the construction of the real ship. Once built, it measures 475/16'' (1,202 mm) length, 181/2'' (470 mm) width and 3111/16'' (805 mm) height -347/16'' or 875 mm with the base-.

This Anatomy will allow you, while you are assembling the model, to examine in depth its construction and structure, as well as its entire very high level of detail from hold to poop deck. The modeling kit contains thousands of parts of high-precision laser-cut board, hardwood, brass and die-cast. As well as copper lining for the hull, cotton sails sewn and ready to be placed and a wooden work base.

For its assembly, you can follow our complete step-by-step guide entirely in video - very easy to follow - which you can view for free at our YouTube channel -click here-. To do this, you can also scan the QR code on the box and in the parts list. It will be like a masterclass carried out by our professional modelers. The kit includes a printed summary assembly guide, as well as printed plans of the boat, which can also be downloaded for free - as well as the parts list - clicking on the button of this product sheet called 'Instructions and Downloadable Content'.

In order for this fantastic Anatomy of HMS Victory to be a model completely faithful to the original replica, we recommend... First, that you paint it with the Specific Set of Water-Based Acrylic Paints (277PACK11), for sale separately. Second, add our two sets of figurines at 1:84 scale, also sold separately that will be available very soon. And, finally, illuminate the boat to give it more realism with the 122 candle-effect lights of the LED Lighting Set for HMS Victory Model (22900-LED).

A LITTLE HISTORY OF ENGLISH SHIP OF THE LINE HMS VICTORY

The British ship of the line HMS Victory is known for participating in 1805 in the Battle of Trafalgar as flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson against the Spanish Armada. At that time, it was the largest ship in the British Royal Navy. Currently, it is in a dry dock in the port of Portsmouth (Hampshire) in southern England as a museum piece. The English ship HMS Victory remains the flagship of the Second Sea Lord. It is even more important because it is the only ship of the line that has survived to this day in conditions faithful to the originals.

HMS Victory was launched in 1765. The rest of the works such as the rigging, the sails and the armament, among others, were progressively completed until in 1778 the British ship of the line could be in active service.

Two years after being assigned to command HMS Victory, Nelson participated in the Battle of Trafalgar, the most decisive of the Napoleonic Wars, as it was the one that < strong>put an end to the French and Spanish navies, thus offering the United Kingdom a maritime supremacy that would last until the Second World War. However, Nelson did not have the opportunity to learn of his victory, as he diedduring the battle in the course of a close combat with the Redoutable, a large French ship with 74 guns. From the tops of the Redoutable a marksman then reached Nelson.
