The Legend of the Cutty Sark

Built in 1869 in Dumbarton, Scotland, the clipper Cutty Sark competed in the fierce tea trade between China and London. Eclipsed by the steamers using the Suez Canal, she later served in the Australian wool trade. Completely restored in 1954, she resides in a custom-built dry dock in Greenwich, London, open to the public. Her sleek lines, breakneck speed and intricate detailing forged her unique legend.
