Modeling and Crafts Glues: White Glue and Cyanoacrylate for Porous Materials

There are many occasions when our modelers friends ask us what adhesives and glues for modeling and crafts to use. Even more, when they are assembling one of our model boats and model planes made of wood. Well, the time has come in this blog post to talk about it. If you want your parts are completely united with the best results, there is no doubt, the glues made by Artesanía Latina are at the forefront.

Next, we indicate you which are the glues for modeling and crafts that you can obtain on our website, pay attention.

GLUES FOR MODELING AND CRAFTS: WHITE GLUE

The first option you have is white glue for wood and porous materials (27602). Presented in a 250 gr bottle, it is one of the so-called easy-to-apply vinyl adhesives. It dries quickly -by having a short drying time- and you can use it on porous materials such as wood, cardboard, carpet, cork, fabrics and tablex. Its texture is creamy.

It comes with a nozzle for easy opening and closing, thus avoiding any type of spillage or the white glue for wood from drying out. Also, if you have traces of this adhesive on your skin, don’t worry, it is not inconvenient for the skin. And if the glue smells too much, neither, because Artesanía Latina’s white vinyl glue does not release toxic fumes.

As for its uses, it can be used, as we discussed, when you are building models made of wood and making crafts such as sewing and fashion, cork and rubber creations, and an endless number of other tasks and hobbies. In this sense, we recommend that if you apply the glue with a brush, keep it moist in water.

GLUES FOR MODELING AND CRAFTS: CYANOACRYLATE FOR POROUS MATERIALS 50 GR. AND SPRAY ACCELERATOR

Another of the fantastic glues for modeling and crafts. When you require even faster drying than white glue, this is your option. The set with the dense cyanoacrylate bottle and its 50 gr. of product and with the cyanoacrylate accelerator spray of 200 ml (27602) by Artesanía Latina. The adherence you will obtain is maximum and instantaneous!

It is perfect for gluing wood and other porous materials such as cardboard, carpet, cork, fabrics and tablex. The dense cyanoacrylate has a nozzle for easy opening and closing, thus preventing any type of spillage or that the cyanoacrylate itself dries up. And a cannula for its measured and precise application. It is also important to note that our cyanoacrylate does not have solvents.

Being a dense cyanoacrylate and slower drying compared to other cyanoacrylates, the accelerator is essential as it makes the glue dry more quickly. Before using it in your activity, we recommend that you test it.

1. Put a drop of dense cyanoacrylate on the two parts to be glued.

2. Next, apply the cyano accelerator spray to one of the two parts to be joined and wait for the product to evaporate.

3. At that instant, put the two parts together. Be careful because as soon as you stick them they will not be able to detach from each other.

Store and protect the dense cyanoacrylate bottle for better conservation in a place out of direct sunlight, dry and with a cool temperature. Wash your hands repeatedly with lukewarm water in case they get stuck with the product.

CYANOACRYLATE FOR POROUS MATERIALS 20 GR.

Another novelty in terms of glues for modeling and crafts is the bottle of dense cyanoacrylate 20 gr. (27620) by Artesanía Latina. This is an easy-to-apply glue and is used to achieve instant joining of parts. Ideal for gluing wood and other porous materials such as cardboard, carpet, cork, fabrics and tablex. The jar has a spout for easy opening and closing, thus avoiding spills or drying of the product.

Tastes of ship models and aircrafts models of the modelers are diverse as they are a very wide spread across all the countries on The Earth. For that reason, Artesania Latina has created a wide range of scale models. Discover here our ship models catalog and aircraft models catalog according to their nationalities, obviously paying more attention to historical potentials, but gradually we are interested in designing and incorporating to our list new miniatures that represent many other countries.

We currently have wooden ship models of Spain, France, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, China, Netherlands, Nordic Countries and Arab Countries. It can be said that Artesania Latina will count with more nationalities for its naval scale models catalog soon.

Messerschmitt BF109G Fighter Model: Aircraft Modeling Revolution (II)

Our modelers continue with the second part of the post about the premium scale model of the famous German Messerschmitt BF109G fighter. They add that “the structure of the fuselage has been reinforced as a grid as on the tail. Then, we give a great strength, firmness and longevity to the BF109G model“. In this way, lovers of aircraft modeling who assemble this replica will see that many parts are fully coupled. That is because it has tabs and grooves that almost make the use of glue unnecessary.

One of the fabulous features of the Messerschmitt BF109G, German fighter metal and plastic model is the inclusion of an electronic system for the propeller movement and for the LED position and existing control panel in the cabin. According to Artesania Latina’s team, this design work has been quite difficult because “it has been necessary to introduce the entire electrical system inside the tank with a ‘L’ form, which is located just below the pilot seat.”

In addition, for the wiring to be quite imperceptible, “the arrangement of the cable has been taken care of in detail, because a grayish color similar to steel has been chosen and it has been arranged in parallel to the wing grids and the fuselage”, says one of our experts. Precisely, the metal parts to build these area and the rest of the structure come in stainless steel photo-etched and injected die-cast.

Messerschmitt BF 109G Fighter Model: Aircraft Modeling Revolution (I)

After working two years, our professional 3D designers and modelers of Artesania Latina are proud to present you a new landmark on aircraft modeling. This model is a revolution in every way. It’s made of metal – stainless steel – and photoetched of the Luftwaffe legend. The German fighter Messerschmitt BF 109G model is your next choice.

The BF 109G 1/16 scale model is a fully reliable replica of the original aircraft aimed at advanced modelers. It is a fighter model that will surprise the fans thanks to its majesty and robustness. It weighs 3.5 lb and measures 22.24’’ length, 24.40’’ width and 8.07 height.

During the spring of 2018, Artesania Latina team decided that the model of the German airplane Messerschmitt BF 109G would be the next project of one of the most important modeling companies in the world since 1970. The fighter of the Luftwaffe was the chosen one so that our friends had a new and exciting modeling challenge to face.

BF 109G FIGHTER MODEL: 3D SPANISH QUALITY DESIGN FOR THE WHOLE WORLD

The 3D design project of the great Messerschmitt BF 109G model is made of metal and photoetched. It has been developed with impeccable results by our highly qualified on industrial design experts.

Firstly, they have shaped the different parts of the plane with 3D design software. Secondly, the parts have been printed using the latest technologies, adapted and modified for correct assembly.

After this exhaustive test / error labor until everything fits perfectly, one of our designers clarifies this issue. “We have not had problems designing the structure of the plane as soon as the parts have been printed everything has fit completely. However, yes on the tail because it was turned. In conclusion, we have decided to redesign it again before sending it to factory for its production, being now totally fixed”, explains the expert.

Our Fokker Dr. I and Sopwith Camel models, at the VIII Contest of Static Modeling ‘Ciudad de Leganés’

Artesania Latina has recently attended another great event for the model building family, in this case in Spain. We have presented the luxury scale models Fokker Dr I and Sopwith Camel 1/16. Why? That’s because our perennial interest to know and present the novelties of the modeling market, so we could not be absent from the VIII Contest of Static Modeling ‘Ciudad de Leganés’. It was celebrated on March 16th, 17th and 18th at the Pabellón Deportivo Europa of this city in Madrid.

The event, organized by the Modeling Association Model34 from Madrid, has had an extraordinary participation of modelers and model lovers.

On the first floor of the pavilion, we have seen medieval historical re-enactments on scale and demonstrations to teach how to paint ship models, planes models and many more miniatures. We also have learned how to achieve oxides in vehicles, weathering in special ships and which are the best complements for dioramas. All the people have enjoy the fantastic presentations of experts on model building or a jury of the contest of the highest level. One of those members has been one of Artesania Latina modelers.

As a curiosity, the commemorative figure of the VIII Contest of Static Modeling ‘Ciudad de Leganés’ has been a well-known one for the Spaniards: the 1960 Legionnaire of Western Sahara.

SUCCESS OF THE FOKKER DR I & SOPWITH CAMEL 1/16

On the other hand, Artesania Latina has taken advantage of such a great opportunity with so many model friends to make known two of their most recent and beautiful creations: the triplane Fokker Dr.I, Red Baron’s plane; and the biplane of the Allied Forces Sopwith Camel. Both models are made wood and metal.

The great acceptance of these Fokker Dr I and Sopwith Camel models there has made clear the enormous work done by Artesania Latina’s modelers.

Finally, the three days during the event has developed has served, above all, for model and miniature lovers to meet and share all their experiences. They have spoken a lot about the construction of models. What a beautiful hobby we enjoy!
